The research group for studies of aquatic ecosystem services was established on December 1, 2024. The group’s research is concentrated on the benefits that come from the connections between aquatic ecosystems and socio-economic systems, and the potential of their economic utilization. Also, we study the trade-offs between various ecosystem services and conduct non-monetary assessments and mapping of ecosystem services. The aim of the studies is to promote the introduction of sustainable water resource management mechanisms in the Republic of Armenia, contribute to the formation of a green economy, and reduce the water ecological footprint of local communities.
